Marklin is a black tank engine. He works on mostly the main line.
Bio[]
Marklin was brought to the North Western Railway in 1928 to shunt and pull goods. He pulls the daily goods train from Tidmouth to Wellsworth, and when he's not working, he shunts trucks in the yards at Tidmouth Knapford. He sleeps at Knapford Sheds.
When he first arrived, he was tricked by Thomas into shunting Thomas's trucks with his, so Thomas could take Henry's passenger train instead of his own trucks When he discovered that Thomas had left behind his passengers, he was one of the engines that teased him.
Persona[]
Marklin is a reliable, kind and helpful engine, and often careful to get his jobs done without fuss or mess. When he first arrived he proved to be somewhat gullible - something which Thomas used to his advantage. He oftendislikes things that are new and different.
Livery[]
Marklin is painted Black with gold lining. He has his number 322, painted in Gold on his sides.
Basis[]
Marklin is based on a DRG-Baureihe 80 heavy duty tank engine, or BR-80, built for the Deutsche Reichsbahn in Germany from 1927-1929.
